The best way to get into the holiday spirit is by helping those around you enjoy Christmas themselves. If you’re looking to do just that, here’s an opportunity. Toys for Tots will be holding its annual event, Tunes for Tots, at the American Foundry on December 14th.

Toys for Tots is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to provide high quality, unused toys and books to many children in need around the community. They are devoted to helping families provide presents for children during the holiday season.

Many local musicians are donating their time to do their part in this great event and create an entertaining performance. Special guests include: John McConnell, Vitamin-X, The Billionaires, Dirtroad Ruckus, and Off the Reservation.

Last year, this event brought in over 750 toys and books from the community. They also raised $918 that went directly to Toys for Tots. In 2015, 4,862 children were able to receive presents thanks to this event. But this year, their goal is to help over 5,000 children.

Toys for Tots would greatly appreciate the support of anyone interested. The admission to the event is free if you bring a donation of a toy or book. Otherwise, it costs $8 to get into the event. However, a donation is what is most helpful.

All donations can also be sent to: Carol Dawson, 174 E. Seventh St., Oswego, NY, 13126.

Get in the holiday spirit by helping children have the Christmas they deserve. Join the community on December 14th at the American Foundry (246 W. Seneca St.) from 5 to 10 PM for a good cause.
